Colyton Town Hall
The Feoffees Town Hall stands in the centre of Colyton and has played an important part in the community for generations.
The building is owned and managed by the Colyton Chamber of Feoffees, an independent local charity whose history stretches back to 1546.
Today the Town Hall continues to provide a venue for community organisations, meetings, classes, events and private functions.
A venue for the community
The Town Hall can be hired throughout the year for a wide variety of community and private activities. Facilities include:
Large Hall
The main hall provides space for larger events, community activities and celebrations.
Meeting Room
A separate space suitable for meetings and smaller gatherings.
Kitchen
Kitchen facilities are available as part of the Town Hall's event provision.
Stage
The hall includes a stage and is used for performances as well as community events.
Colyton Chamber of Feoffees
The Colyton Chamber of Feoffees has served the local community since the sixteenth century. Historically its responsibilities included a range of local public services. Today it continues its charitable work and manages its property estate, including the Town Hall.
The charity provides grants, loans and other support for individuals and organisations in the local community.
Relationship with the Parish Council:
The Chamber of Feoffees and Colyton Parish Council are
separate organisations. The Chamber has 16 members, with
four members nominated by the Parish Council.
Hire the Town Hall
The Town Hall is available for weddings, parties, meetings, community events, regular clubs, health and fitness classes, exhibitions and other activities.
